If you watched last week’s episode (you can check it out here: https://youtu.be/H2PG6ihSy7U ), you know that after 5 years of full-time RV travel, we finally made it to Disney’s Fort Wilderness! Though this is very different from the RVing we usually do and more than we have ever spent on a campground by a whole lot, we are glad that we got to experience it with the girls. We only stayed three nights, but in that time, we were able to go to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure (sorry, Disney!), enjoy our huge and private campsite, spend a day enjoying the pool, and have an amazing dinner with one of our favorites - marinated steak tips! Be sure to sign up for our newsletter on our website for the recipe: www.findingoursomeday.com While at Fort Wilderness, we wanted to see how Disney’s transportation systems worked if you are staying on one of their properties. We took the boat from Fort Wilderness over to Magic Kingdom and then got on the Resort Monorail line which takes you around to all three Disney resorts. You can get off and walk around the resorts, eat at their restaurants and try out a Dole Whip at the Polynesian! We highly recommend the vanilla/pineapple swirl! We checked out all three resorts and then headed back to the Contemporary to view the fireworks over the castle from the upper levels. We have seen this show from many locations (the castle, the beach at Fort Wilderness, and the lake at Thousand Trails Orlando), but this was one of the coolest! There are speakers all around the hotel that play the music that accompanies the show. We jumped back on the monorail and headed back to the boat, very thankful that we weren’t waiting in the crazy lines of people leaving the park!
