@Summer Academy 2020 "Script Analysis" Masterclass with Jeremy Tardy
VIRTUAL MASTER CLASS SERIES - "Script Analysis" with Jeremy Tardy June 29th-July 3rd 2:00-3:30pm For students entering 11th Grade and up in the Fall of 2020 (college students welcome) “Dissecting a monologue, a scene, or an entire project can help discover and inform artistic choices that are specific and insightful, and that can make all the difference between being a good actor, and one that stands out.” This advanced, week-long intensive course promises to enhance and challenge your artistic process and potential: “Script Analysis”, a virtual masterclass with Jeremy Tardy. First Stage alumni Jeremy Tardy started acting at the age of five. All throughout his school life he struggled with his grades when he began to focus on acting, saying, "I did not indulge in most things that kids my age were into...The biggest challenge I have faced was the challenge of staying on the right track as a teenager...I have had many friends get caught up in the street life and the trouble that comes with it." Jeremy's hard work earned him acceptance into Juilliard School. In 2016, he was cast as Rashid Bakr in the Netflix television adaptation as Dear White People. ****Disclaimer: Please be advised that this play contains strong use of language. The purpose of this Masterclass is to study practical applications of script analysis on a professional level. It is equally important that acting students are introduced to content that will challenge them as they apply the technical aspects of script analysis. The ultimate goal of analyzing this play is to understand each character as if preparing to portray them which will engender empathy and a broad artistic perspective.****
