Fishaholic's video: DIY Filter Aquarium

@DIY Filter Aquarium
This DIY filter aquarium video will enable you to build an aquarium filter at home on a low budget using a plastic container and air pump. DIY filter aquarium is air driven and there is no need to buy a submersible aquarium pump. It not only reduce the operational cost but also add extra oxygen to the water which makes this aquarium filter highly efficient. Mechanism of aquarium filter is like a canister filter but the only difference is that filter is located inside the aquarium. Air tight food container with a bead of silicone around all the plumbing will ensure that it is water sealed and only mechanically filtered water enters the filter. Air driven, DIY filter aquarium has two inlets and single outlet. Both inlet tubes are covered with coarse sponge which ensures no small fish or fry are sucked into the filter. Water then flows through a bag of Zeolite and then passes through a fine filter foam. I have placed few bio bakki balls on top of fine foam and then a layer of ceramic rings added in the top layer. Material Used In DIY Filter Aquarium: Plastic air tight food container Plastic connectors Clear plastic tubing Airtube and air pump Zeolite Bio Media Bio Bakki balls Ceramic rings Coarse and Fine Foam Initially, the filter will only pick up pieces of debris and feces in the tank. But over time it will start building beneficial bacteria colonies. However, by adding bio media from a cycled tank will boost the process. Building aquarium filter at home is always cheap and suits your aquarium needs. Filter can be made efficient by adding reasonable amount of space for all three type of filter media (mechanical, chemical and biological).
