Bigger fish in bigger tank creates the issue of nasty fish poop in the aquarium. There are not many aquarium filter designed to catch the fish waste. In today's video I will show you how to build a DIY fish poop filter at home by using a air tight plastic container. This internal filter aquarium is air driven and would need air pump to operate. The impeller in the aquarium filter creates a cyclone kind of affect and draws the fish poop which is collected in the base of the filter. Once fish poop is collected in the base of the filter, the biological filter media will convert it into less harmful form for the fish. DIY Fish waste filter is installed in a 220L goldfish tank and powered by Aqua One precision 9500 air pump. Filter would require to be maintained on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
