Floridian Elevators's video: Almost Completely Original Vintage Otis Traction Elevator at Staples Center City in Philadelphia PA

@Almost Completely Original Vintage Otis Traction Elevator at Staples Center City in Philadelphia, PA
Filmed on July 12th, 2024 with ‎@Mattyice-zg8om  Here is the first of a select few videos I filmed in Philadelphia during my recent trip to NYC & Eastern PA. I unfortunately didn't film too many elevators in Philadelphia and the majority of the elevators I did end up getting in this area were in the suburbs as Security is VERY Strict & Hostile here with most office buildings being heavily patrolled & the guard at one of them threatened to call the cops on me and told me to "GET THE F*** OUT!" when I LITERALLY asked if she could show me a Manually Controlled elevator in the building and when I attempted to leave when she declined to do so and didn't even ride any elevators in the building unauthorized! Anyhow, at least the few elevators I did make it on in Center City were pretty cool, and this elevator definitely is no exception. Located at a Staples in the Middle of Center City, this elevator is an almost fully original Bottom Drive Otis Lexan, LITERALLY the ONLY upgrade done to this elevator was the replacement Innovation Universal COP! As to why the COP on this elevator was replaced, I have no idea and CLEARLY it was done very cheaply as NONE of the buttons light up and this elevator no longer has a functioning floor indicator when it clearly did have one at one point, but this elevator was still pretty awesome fixtures aside and hopefully it doesn't get upgraded any further. The Motor, Generator & Relays are VERY LOUD & are absolute MUSIC to my ears, and the Cab looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL & HISTORIC Looking too, which is very fitting given the fact that this Store is located in a Historic Building. Overall, this elevator was a pretty neat little Gem located right in the Middle of Philly. Just be careful when filming here, as you can see in the video, me and Matt were VERY CLOSE to getting busted and things could've gotten really ugly really fast here.... Installed in Circa Early to Mid 1970s. (Otis with Lexan/Halo fixtures) Modernized in Circa 2000s. (COP replaced with Innovation Universal, otherwise left untouched from installation date) Camera details: Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Mic: Built In (c) 2024 Floridian Elevators Productions
