Forgotten Trinkets's video: T-Shirt Reconstruction Take 2: Return of the Pockets

@T-Shirt Reconstruction Take 2: Return of the Pockets
If you saw my last post you know that I tried and failed at making a pair of pocketed shorts. What you may not know is that project was actually part of a contest, which I won! ~Yay~ ...and guess what I won? More t-shirts! Okay, to be fair I won two shirts, a notebook, and a pin. So naturally I got the biggest shirt they had for myself to cut up and make into PJ's, the second shirt in a large for my dad, gave the pin to my friend, and somehow managed to misplace the notebook a day after getting it. Anyhoo, back to the point. I wasn't going to let my previous failure at pockets define me, so I decided to try again. This time things went a little better, and I am now the proud owner of some bright green pocketed pajama shorts, because more pajamas need pockets gosh darn it! What do these pajama designers expect me to do? Carry things in my hands!? Ridiculous. Which is a big part of why I'm trying to learn how to make and design my own stuff, because more women's clothing needs functioning pockets. Pocket rant aside, I also used the rest of the shirt to experiment with knit fabric and see what I could do to make a standard t-shirt a little more interesting. I was inspired by some of the elaborate braided hairstyles I'd seen on LaDollyVita333's channel, so I decided to try a six strand braid along the neckline. I fumbled a bit in the beginning, but eventually I got a hang of the pattern. LaDollyVita333 has a super thorough and incredibly helpful braid-tionary video on how to do every braid you can think of, including the six strand one I used in my video, and you can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2ifoTyHoA4 Song: Life Is, by Cosimo Fogg 201 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MXUHYGvBVY Check out more of their music on soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/cosimo-fogg Website: http://forgotten-trinkets.blogspot.com Instagram: @forgottentrinkets Edit:  In regards to COPPA and the FTC,  While I’ve worked hard to make my content accessible and enjoyable to a broad audience, my content is not intended for young children. I regularly use potentially hazardous tools to create art including open flames, heavy gauge wire, sharp pins & sewing needles, razor blades, as well as a sewing machine & serger. These are tools no child should be using unsupervised, and by extension, children should not be watching these videos without supervision. I’m so happy when parents tell me my videos inspired them to create art with their kids. I think arts and crafts are a wonderful way to connect people of all ages, but not all arts and crafts are appropriate for young children, and should not be attempted without attentive supervision and guidance.  My videos are not intended for children. To those that would suggest that anything relating to fantasy, magic, fairies, and angels must be created for children, I’d point out the existence of shows like Carnival Row, Game of Thrones, Lost Girl, True Blood(Spoiler: series contains fairies), Good Omens, Lucifer, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and many more, are compelling evidence to the contrary.  Additionally, according to YouTube analytics less than 5% of my audience falls in the 13-17 age range (the youngest age group YouTube analytics provides data on) and the vast majority of my audience is over 20.  Also, a little update on me: I have been going through one of the worst periods of depression I’ve experienced in quite some time. I’ve barely been able to get out of bed for the past 3 months. My mental health has all but abandoned me, my physical health is suffering, and I don’t have the means or access to seek professional help. This has contributed to the lack of updates on all of my social media platforms. However, these developments with YouTube, COPPA, and the FTC, have been less than encouraging and this very well could mean the end of my channel.  To anyone who’s enjoyed watching my videos, thank you. It’s nice to know I’ve brought people a bit of happiness.  Thank you for all of the kind and supportive comments! I hope you continue to find inspiration and happiness through creativity and art
