Halo 3: ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper), originally called Halo 3: Recon, is a standalone, disc-based campaign expansion to Halo 3 available in Fall of 2009. "ODST" is a new first-person shooter (FPS) and is definitely still a Halo game as you've come to know it. However, instead of playing as the Master Chief (like players did in Halo, Halo 2 and Halo 3), in H3: ODST, players take control of an an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper who entered orbit just after the slipspace rupture on New Mombasa (that event, you recall, took place as Regret left the planet and in Halo 2, you followed him as the Chief). Now, players will learn more about what happened on New Mombasa during some of the events of Halo 2. This is Bungie's latest installment to the Halo series. The new trailer released after the recent name change is exactly the same, with the exception of a new title card at the end to reflect the new name. Since this is all that has changed, I'm not going to bother to replace this one with the new one, saying ODST instead of Recon.
