His journey was like a novel: raised in a family of six siblings, his early years marked by time in an orphanage, and his teenage years defined by being drafted into the war in 1943, and more. But before delving into all of that, like any good story, it begins with a birth. Charles Herrgott, also known as "Bouvy," was born on February 22, 1926. My first prelude celebrates his birth.
