How to defeat the tricky first boss in Bloodborne. Recommended level 16 - 17 Recommend high vitality over other stats. Learn his attacks take your time and be patient. Don't let him box you in and stay out of reach until you the chance to dash forward and move behind him. If you can strike his left arm after he does a downward punch he'll be open to a critical hit from the front. At around two thirds health he'll change his attack patterns and start to lunge. Be wary of his movements and pick your chances. Keep an eye on your health and stamina and you'll put him to the sound in no time.
