GAvillain's video: Maleficent No Turning Back Now You Can t Stop the Things I Do - Favorite Character Contest

Gee Maleficent, how come GAvillain lets you have TWO songs, huh? Because she's the fucking best, that's why. For DannyPhantomSG1's Favorite Character Contest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xemr4eMC2SY In all seriousness, when I saw this contest go up, I wasn't sure I would enter since my editing style is a lot more "old school" than most AMV makers look for today. But when I saw that no one had claimed Maleficent yet, she DEMANDED that I enter to do her justice. And really how could I refuse her? So I decided to do two different songs to showcase two different yet distinct sides of Maleficent and to really encompass who she is as a villain and a character. I chose "Down With the Sickness" by Disturbed to pay homage to my roots editing with rock and heavy metal and because Maleficent truly is a metal character. She is. She embodies that same intense, powerful, dangerous, loud, and epic feel. "Down With the Sickness" is all about the descent into madness, and I think there's certainly a strong double meaning with regards to embracing that descent into EVIL. So just having a song that incarnates her evil and edginess that the dragon form embodies was just perfect. Then "Poor Unfortunate Souls / I Put a Spell on You" by Voctave was perfect for capturing her sneakier, more mysterious, and more subdued side. The mystical witch who can control and exude a regal elegance. It was just the perfect contrast up against her more in your face and intense side and really allowed me to play around with the footage of her messing around with the heroes a lot more as well. So, yeah, this was great fun! To win or place high would be a great honor, but either way, I had a lot of fun making this and I really felt like I did my favorite fictional character proud :)
