Grand Canyon University held the inaugural Run to Fight Children's Cancer, an event to raise awareness and donations for childhood cancer treatment, in October 2011. Since then, the University has held five runs and donated more than $300,000 to research-minded charities. Each year, GCU selects a local child battling cancer to serve as the honorary race starter. Jack Welch, a six-year-old from Chandler with leukemia was selected for the March 8, 2014 run. GCU Today provides an inside look at Jack's cancer journey and the process of launching the 2014 Run to Fight Children's Cancer in this special edition mini-documentary.
