It is located at an altitude of 3,680 m (12,073 ft), and just below the peak of Chandrashila. The temple is believed to be 5000 years old and is the third (Tritiya Kedar) in the pecking order of the Panch Kedars. It has a rich legend linked to the Pandavas Chopta-Tungnath-Chandrashila is a awesome trek of 3.5 KM from chopta to Tungnath Temple and 1.5 KM from Tungnath to Chandrashila. Here u will get 1000 Meters elevation (chopta at 2680 Mtrs Tungnath 3680 Mtrs) just in 3.5KM trek. Because of its green meadows and Snow peak background people also called it switzerland of india About this Series: Distance : 900 KM (Delhi chopta Delhi) Time : 4 Days/3 Night Total Expenses: Rs550 per person per day (All inclusive Petrol Hotel Meals) Route Followed : Delhi Ghaziabad Kotdwar Lansdowne Pauri Srinagar Rudraprayag Chopta Tungnath. This was an amazing ghat road drive for us in October 2019. There are 2 main route for Chopta From Delhi Via lansdowne-Pauri-Srinagar or Via Rishikesh-Srinagar. Best route is Via Pauri,here roads are smooth,full of curves and surroundings are decorated with beautiful Pine forests, deep green valleys. which gives you a amazing experience.
