2000年に東京大学大学院・文化資源学研究室に招かれ、以来その研究を率いてきた木下直之。近代の日本美術を主な関心としつつも、写真や建築、銅像や祭礼など、美術に隣接するものへと領域を広げ、世の途中から隠されてしまったもの、忘れられたもの、消えゆくもの、その場かぎりのものに目を向けてきました。木下がこれまでに著した12冊の本を全集に見立て、「作品とつくりもの」、「建築と建物」、「ヌードとはだか」など、ものごとの境界線をたどります。身近にありながらも通り過ぎてしまう、近くても遠い場所へ皆さまをご案内します。
