Opening up my mishimoto ebay special catch can after 1000 miles to see how much oil has been collected. I was quite surprised how much oil was collected but equally surprised to see some oil still getting back into the intake system. You will never be able to filter out all of the oil particles unless using some form of paper filter, but this will effect air flow so that could cause an issue. The filter element on this catch can could be improved to capture/separate more of the oil particles. After 1000 miles i had approximately 5-10ml of oil. This was saved from going back into the intake system. What was also surprising, just how poor the original air oil separator AOS valve is, considering it was a brand new valve which was just replaced. Next step is to either modify the current catch can or look for an alternative and see how that goes. The reservoir on this can is small, and if you can't get to it frequently to check it, i would recommend getting a bigger one.
