Firstly if your not a member of the Facebook group 'street photography creators' jump over here: https://bit.ly/31cdGPe Marks Instagram: https://bit.ly/3j0xuLu The ongoing debate.. where is street photography? i'm all for keeping a genre specific.. and while i agree art is art and should not be labeled.. i think it helps to have an idea of what you are trying to achieve.. i do like to know im on the right path (pun intended) haha if it turned out i thought i loved street photography when it actually turns out all my images were more documentary or architectural photography id want to know.. i could then research and channel my enthusiasm towards the right genre.. tho if we're just discussing art.. then photography is photography of course! Street photography in MY OPINION, is candid.. interesting.. storytelling in a public domain.. Tho all of these variables are questionable.. i have to draw the line at candid and interesting.. but again.. there are many sub topics with in the street photography genre, humour.. fine art.. political.. & what you find interesting will likely differ to me.. The solution to this is just to have fun and enjoy snapping away.. tho be prepared for the purists to pick you up if it doesn't fall into the traditional categories.. I ALWAYS ask myself these questions before hitting the shutter.. 1 Is it interesting, and not just to me!...? Rate it out of 5 2 Have i taken similar? 3 If i were shooting film and had 12 shots.. would this be one? 4 Is this street photography or art? 5 What do i and don't i like about the image?
