GaryW48's video: The Carpenters performing on April 21 1974

On April 21st, 1974, I had seats 3 rows from the front at the Niagara Falls Convention Center (now the Seneca-Niagara Casino, where the 'High Roller Slots' are now located). As the start up act was a national comedy team of Skiles and Henderson, who had appeared on the Dean Martin Summer Show on NBC. Then Karen and Richard Carpenter came and did their performance. When Karen Carpenter was doing solo vocals, the backup drummer was none other than Cubby O'Brien, who was part of the Original Mickey Mouse Club TV Show of the 1950's. One of the medleys of songs was done with the use of strobe lights, which made it difficult to film. Than after, the next part of the show had local school children on stage, performing the song, 'Sing', which Karen previously recorded for an album, and was a popular song in 1973-74 on the Sesame Street TV Show seen on PBS.
