A video I made in 2008 showing my Great Nephews what I did for a living, which was working in Television. It shows myself and my friend Mike in Master Control of WKBW-TV. The next segment shows one of my jobs, which was operating a live microwave transmission truck for news stories. Then I headed back into the building and showed the TV camera I usually operated doing news, sports, and public affairs programs in house. The final part was more of a pep talk to both 3 and 6 year olds at the time why they need to go to school and learn everything they can. Since this video was originally recorded, the station went and automated almost all of the functions, such as robotic cameras which eliminated studio cameramen, the Master Control is now hubbed to another location out of state and operated by non union persons working at a lower wage, and live trucks with Engineers operating them have been mostly replaced by TVU and LiveU 'one man band' bonded cellular equipment, thus causing our Operations Engineers to be outsourced and out of work.
