SUBMITTER: Reflex Bigfoot for the NES is a game that's just a hair shy of being a solid title. It's genuinely fun to play, has goofy music, and the events & customization are a nice touch... but wow are this game's controls terrible. Had it not been for the fact that Reflex and Draco grew up playing this game together this might've been an automatic fail because you'll never guess how you accelerate in the side-scrolling head-to-head races. But go on though, do at least TRY and guess, because we promise you'll get it wrong. You alternate pressing left and right on the D-pad as quickly as you can. Yep. There's no "hold A and keep an eye on the tachometer and then shift gears as needed" or anything, you legit have to destroy your thumb with awful controls plucked right out of the Mario Party playbook. (And the other buttons also do things too, like activating the engine supercharger and shifting gears. So there's even more stuff to keep up with.) Luckily Draco knew ahead of time how this game is played and it became a matter of sticking to his guns in order to defeat "The Growler", the game's first CPU opponent. Opponents can only be defeated in the top-down view mud race between events; wrecking during this race incurs a $500 penalty and if the player is unable to afford that penalty they are out of the game.
