In this video, I give a few tips that I use to cultivate small corn on terraces. In general, I "swing wide" on the turns AND crowd the top row when on a hill! These points are crucial when using a rear mount cultivator. When on a hill and the row is turning, it is helpful to think about a half way point of the two rules. Go slow until you figure out how your cultivator is tracking!! Thus, stop the tractor to examine in detail the tracking pattern. I find it helpful to glance at the top-link IN RELATION TO the drawbar...while on the tractor. This will give you a reference point to determine if the cultivator is tracking left or right. It is important to have your settings (depth, shovels, etc.) as balanced as possible to aid in uniform tracking. The clip at the end of the video was taken five days after the cultivation pass.
