The MOTHER of all exercises! DEADLIFTS! Conventional Deadlifts are the most common form of deadlifts that are often done incorrectly resulting in injuries. In this video I outline the basic principles on how to do a conventional deadlift with perfect form. 1. Begin with having your feet slightly narrower than shoulder width apart 2. The bar should be about 1\2 -1 inch away from your shins 3. Hip hinge by taking your hips back towards the wall behind you 4. Grab the bar with your hands beside your shins 5. Pretend to bend the bar in half so you can activate your lats 6. Take a deep breath in your stomach and brace your core 7. Make sure your hips are not too high or too low but just right so you have a mechanical advantage 8. Make sure you are keeping a Neutral Spine (keep the back straight) 9. Make sure your shoulders don’t drift too far ahead of the bar 10. There should be straight line through the middle of the bar, the middle of your feel and your shoulders 11. Drive/Push through the floor using your heels 12. Once the bar goes past your knees explode through your hips and lock out at the top 13. Do not hyper extend your back 14.
