One of the most commonly used leg exercise is the LEG PRESS MACHINE and today we will cover exactly how to perform it correctly In this video, we talk about the proper foot placement on the Leg Press Machine There are 3 variations which target different muscle groups 1. Having your feet shoulder width apart will target predominantly your quads and glutes 2. Having your feet wider than shoulder width apart will target your glutes and inside of your legs 3. Having your feet closer together will target your quads It’s very important to push the weight by using 3 points of contact 1. The Heel of your foot 2. The Ball of your foot 3. The Outside of your foot Avoid making these COMMON MISTAKES while using the Leg Press Machine: - DON’T push the weight from your toes, as if can cause potential knee injury - DON’T lift your glutei and lower back off the seat while bringing your legs closer towards your body, as it can cause lower back injury. It is essential to keep your glutei and back planted on the seat firmly - DON’T lock your knees while pushing the weight up. Doing so will put all the weight onto your knees, which can potentially snap your knees out of the socket! I hope you found this video helpful.
