GeoBeats Arts's video: Artist Uses Dead Insects as Canvases

@Artist Uses Dead Insects as Canvases
An artist uses dead insects as canvases. Some artists have the ability to paint the most intricate works of art on the tiniest surfaces. Hasan Kale is one such talented artist. Specializing in miniature art, he utilizes the wings of taxidermied insects as a canvas to paint cityscapes. The Turkish artist focuses on re-creating sights from his native land of Istanbul. With an emphasis on precision, Kale uses his finger as a palette and creates his painting with intricate single brush strokes. He has been painting the miniature works since the 1980s. One of his exhibits features a butterfly. His painted mural blends beautifully and effortlessly into the delicate, naturally colored wings of the insect. Canal waters are painted towards the bottom of the wings with gondoliers taking up residence over the water standing in the boats. Another butterfly has similar buildings stemming upwards over a canal in the far landscape while birds are depicted flying over the water. How do you like the artwork?
