Georgii Cherkin LIVE's video: Sevdana for Violin Piano - Famous Bulgarian Classics

One of the most emblematic pieces of the Bulgarian classical music repertoire, composed by Georgi Zlatev - Cherkin (1905-1977) - "Sevdana" for violin and piano, was composed in 1944. While this composition is not very well known in the world, it is one of the most famous and beloved classical music pieces in Bulgaria and was performed by every talented Bulgarian violinists all over the world. Actually the composer Georgi Zlatev - Cherkin was my grandfather, but I had never chance to know him since I was born just few months after his death. However I had the chance to perform one of his best compositions - "Sevdana" together with the talented violinist Svetlin Roussev, as featured in this video. About the title "Sevdana" - it is a name of a girl in who, I believe, my grandfather was in love, but since that love was never realised he expressed his great passion into that beautiful music piece.
