He said simple measures such as proper hand washing, social distancing and wearing of masks are not being followed by many despite the threat of the viral disease. "Maganda 'yong may konting takot, konting fear... para ayusin ang ating sarili, ating pamilya at tignan natin kung ano pa maitutulong natin sa ating kapaligiran." Meanwhile, he said lack of fear leads to delusion and may cause negligence. "We have to be serious on this...Ang problema po natin ngayon ay hindi natin binubuksan ang ating mga mata," he said. The Luzon region was placed under enhanced community quarantine by President Rodrigo Duterte from March 17 to April 13 to curb the spread of COVID-19. Strict measures, including restrictions on travel and the closure of most establishments have been imposed during the period of the quarantine. The Philippines has so far recorded a total of 2,311 cases of COVID-19 including 96 fatalities and 50 recoveries. —Ma. Angelica Garcia/LDF, GMA News
