In Shelby County alone, there are over 10,000 public school children on the free meal program at their school but what happens over the weekends? During long holiday breaks and weekends, The BackPack Buddies Program helps meet the need by providing public school students with nutritious and easy-to-prepare food that they can take home when other resources aren’t always available. We also provide Family Emergency Food Boxes, Hygiene Bags, and many other important essentials. BackPack Programs are facilitated all over the United States and we are so thankful to offer our own customized backpack program to the children of Shelby County. This is only possible due to the generous and caring sponsors, donors, and grantors that have selflessly invested money, time, and hard work to insure that every child has a chance to thrive and have a great future.
