GetOutThereMagazine's video: Mudcat Marathon Weekend 2018

@Mudcat Marathon Weekend 2018
Mudcat Marathon Weekend May 11-12, 2018 is an impressive accomplishment for a pretty small town. With Friday night's Fishy 5k and a kids run followed by Saturday morning's marathon, half marathon, 10k, 5k, and another kids run there's a lot going on. And it's all done with enthusiasm and with the kind of execution runners expect from mid-sized races. Two unique features stand out: 1. The Mighty Mudcat Challenge is a medal awarded to any runners who participate in both Friday's Fishy 5k and any of the events on Saturday. The medal this year is a really cool image of a tackle box that actually opens. 2. All the Saturday events she a finish line with the timing designed so that the fastest marathoners are finishing among the half, 10k, and 5k runners. In a bigger event this would be utter chaos, but at Mudcat it means the longer events have some extra company and motivation in those tough final kilometres and families and friends aren't waiting around for so long to see each other cross the line. The marathon course has some rolling hills, but the second half is flatter and the 5k/10k routes are very flat. The race puts on a solid expo on Friday and the whole community of Dunnville seems to join in either running or helping to make this a special weekend supporting a couple local charities.
