Getsmart Productions's video: Millions of seniors taking 16 medications making them sick bankrupting Medicare -Senator Conrad

February 2010. Senator Kent Conrad told the group that the average Medicare Patient is on 16 medications, many of which conflict. 5% of Medicare members use 50% of the money. He said that in one study they brought in a care coordinator and cut the number of drugs in half, from 16 to 8, saving "hundreds of thousands of dollars per patient". Then he said "we must fix this or we will rue the day". 19 of our top leaders were present in the room--then they buried the issue. From Conrad's statements we can calculate that the potential savings was approximately $100 billion. Approximately 10 million seniors are now taking 10 or more drugs, some of which conflict. Hundreds of thousands of seniors have died from overmedication and bad drug combinations since this hearing. Please help our seniors by sharing this video and getting a simple question to our Federal, State, and City leaders: what happened and can you help to fix this?
