Releasing this on Mirza Ghalib's first death anniversary in the new decade. 15th Feb 2020. his is a Ghalib ghazal which contains his most famous sher on welcoming a special guest - Ye ham jo hijr meñ dīvār-o-dar ko dekhte haiñ kabhī sabā ko kabhī nāma-bar ko dekhte haiñ Vo aa.e ghar meñ hamāre ḳhudā kī qudrat hai Kabhī ham un ko kabhī apne ghar ko dekhte haiñ Nazar lage na kahīñ us ke dast-o-bāzū ko Ye log kyuuñ mire zaḳhm-e-jigar ko dekhte haiñ Tere javāhīr-e-turf-e-kulah ko kyā dekheñ Ham auj-e-tāla-e-lāl-o-gohar ko dekhte haiñ ये हम जो हिज्र में दीवार-ओ-दर को देखते हैं कभी सबा को कभी नामा-बर को देखते हैं वो आए घर में हमारे ख़ुदा की क़ुदरत है कभी हम उन को कभी अपने घर को देखते हैं नज़र लगे न कहीं उस के दस्त-ओ-बाज़ू को ये लोग क्यूँ मिरे ज़ख़्म-ए-जिगर को देखते हैं तिरे जवाहिर-ए-तुर्फ़-ए-कुलह को क्या देखें हम औज-ए-ताला-ए-लाला-ओ-गुहर को देखते हैं ہ ہم جو ہجر میں دیوار و در کو دیکھتے ہیں کبھی صبا کو کبھی نامہ بر کو دیکھتے ہیں وہ آئے گھر میں ہمارے خدا کی قدرت ہے کبھی ہم ان کو کبھی اپنے گھر کو دیکھتے ہیں نظر لگے نہ کہیں اس کے دست و بازو کو یہ لوگ کیوں مرے زخم جگر کو دیکھتے ہیں ترے جواہر طرف کلہ کو کیا دیکھیں ہم اوج طالع لعل و گہر کو دیکھتے ہیں Taken from a Live programme Ghalib - Decoded and Sung Nehru Centre, 20th April 2019.
