Kargil Protested Against Sumbla Rape Case Demanded stern punishment to the Rapist Glacier Times News Kargil 13-05-2019:- The whole Kargil town closed after Midday today Protested against the Recent Incident of alleged Rape of a 3 years old Girl in Sumbal Bandipora. The protest started from Jamia Masjid Kargil under the banner of Imam Khomeni Memorial Trust Kargil, passing through Kalon Rahim Khan (KRK) Chowk, Main Bazaar Kargil was joined by the hundreds of Students from Mutharry Public School and hundreds of Women from Zainabia welfare Committee Kargil and later concluded at Kalon Rahim Khan Chowk Kargil (Lal Chowk). The protesters were shouting slogans like, Punish the Guilty, Death to the Rapist, Hang the Rapist etc. While interacting with the protesters Former MLA and Contesting Independent Candidate for Ladakh Parliamentary Seat Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai demanded for stern action against the culprits and to conduct the inquiry on fast track basis. Showing solidarity with the family of the victim, he told that the people of Kargil are with the family of the victim and are raising and will raise heinous crimes and protest against such incidents in future also. Vice Chairman IKMT Sheikh Basir Shakir, referring to the case of Asifa, requested the government, the hon’ble court to conduct such cases on fast track basis with exemplary result so that people will think thousand times before committing such crime and people shall not lose hope in judiciary. Meanwhile Student Educational Movement of Kargil (SEMOK), Youth Action Committee Kargil and many other organizations also condemned this heinous crime.
