Global News's video: Trudeau government backtracks on promised international human rights investigations

@Trudeau government backtracks on promised international human rights investigations
WARNING: Video contains graphic images some viewers may find disturbing. Viewer discretion is advised. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberals have broken their commitment to create a watchdog with the power to compel evidence related to human rights abuse allegations linked to Canadian companies with international operations, including mining corporations. Three years after the announcement of the creation of this ombudsperson, the office will soon be opening but without the promised powers to compel witnesses and documents. Global News investigates recent allegations of human rights abuses fired at one Canadian mining company's operations in Brazil and how the Canadian government is failing to give the new office enough powers to probe cases like these.
