Global News's video: Global National: Sept 6 2022 Saskatchewan stabbing suspect s long violent history

@Global National: Sept. 6, 2022 | Saskatchewan stabbing suspect's long violent history
In our top story: The search continues for Myles Sanderson, the suspect in the stabbing spree that left at least 10 dead in Saskatchewan on Sunday. Sanderson was one of two suspects in the crimes with his brother Damien also facing charges of murder before his body was found on James Smith Cree Nation on Monday morning. On Tuesday, the focus shifted back to the Cree Nation after reports of a possible sighting, though in the end it was determined a false alarm. But Sunday's deadly stabbing spree was not the first case of violence for Sanderson. Global News has obtained court documents outlining his violent past and Mike Armstrong reports on what we know and the questions being raised about why Sanderson was released from his latest sentence early. As the manhunt continues to unfold, friends and family of those killed on Sunday are grieving. While a lot of people on the James Smith Cree Nation are not speaking with media, others are and telling the story of what they say will highlight the deep-rooted problems that may have contributed to this mass killing. Heather Yourex-West reports. In the U.K., Liz Truss has officially become prime minister and after meeting with Queen Elizabeth II, she wasted no time appointing cabinet ministers she wants to work with. As Crystal Goomansingh reports, Boris Johnson's departure from No. 10 Downing Street finds Truss inheriting a portfolio of problems. Back in Canada, there continues to be a staffing crisis in hospitals across the country. Many emergency rooms have been temporarily closed and the state of Canadian health care has reignited the long-running debate about privatization. Jamie Mauracher has more on what a system with more options could mean for patients. And as the manhunt for Myles Sanderson continues, the people of Weldon, Sask., one of the two communities impacted by the stabbings, remain on edge. Though there remains plenty of Prairie friendliness, people are understandably still nervous. Dawna Friesen speaks with those in the community about their feelings.
