@कितना ताकतवर है Anti Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft और Next Generation Missile Vessels?
The ASW-SWC corvettes are anti submarine warfare vessels ordered for the Indian Navy from Cochin Shipyard (CSL) and Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE). They are in the 700 ton range and will replace the Abhay-class corvette currently in service. In December 2013, Defence Acquisition Council of the Indian Ministry of Defense (MoD) approved the purchase of 16 shallow water anti-submarine vessels at a cost of ₹13,440 crore (US$1.9 billion), to replace Russian-built Abhay-class corvettes commissioned between 1989 and 1991. In June 2014, under the "Buy and Make India" initiative, the MoD issued a tender to local private sector shipyards, including Larsen & Toubro, ABG Shipyard, Pipavav Shipyard, Goa Shipyard and Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers. The vessels will be armed with torpedoes, rockets and two 12.7 mm machine guns in remote stations. They are designed to be able to hunt for submarines in shallow waters. They will have a complement of 7 officers and 50 sailors. In October 2017, Cochin Shipyard and Garden Reach emerged has the L1 and L2 bidders respectively. They will manufacture 8 ships each. On 29 April 2019, Ministry of Defence and Garden Reach signed contract valued at ₹6,311 crore (US$880 million) for eight vessels to be delivered between 2022 and 2026. The next day, Ministry of Defence and Cochin Shipyard signed a similar contract for eight vessels with identical terms. On 1 December 2020, first steel plate for Ship No. BY 523 Mahe the steel cutting ceremony of the Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Crafts (ASWSWCs) for the Indian Navy was held at the Cochin Shipyard Limited. On 31 December 2020, steel cutting ceremony of the first ship from GRSE and the second ship of the batch was held. The first ship from GRSE was laid down on 6 August 2021. Next Generation Missile Vessels (NGMVs) are a planned class of anti-surface warfare corvettes for the Indian Navy. Under this programme the Indian Navy intends to acquire six advanced missile corvettes. Ships in this class will be armed with anti-ship or land attack missiles like BrahMos or Nirbhay. Ships under this class will feature advanced stealth features like a low radar cross section (RCS), infrared, acoustic and magnetic signatures. On 2 January 2015 the Ministry of Defence (MOD) issued a Request For Information (RFI) under Buy Indian and Make Indian category for six new missile corvettes by initiating the Next Generation Missile Vessels (NGMVs) programme. Vendors who chose to respond to the RFI must meet "minimum qualifying criteria" mainly, shipyard should have already built "vessel(s) of similar specifications". An RfP worth $2.2 billions was filed by the Government of India to various Indian shipyards seeking for various ships including six missile boats. In February 2021, the Cochin shipyard won the bid to construct 6 Next generation Missile Vessels for a cost ₹10,000 crores. The RFI suggests that ships will be about 2,000-2,500 tonnes each. The new ships will have a complement of 11 officers, 2 trainee officers and 80 sailors. The range will be at least 2,800 nautical miles (5,200 km; 3,200 mi) (1,000 nmi, 1,900 km, 1,200 mi at full speed) and speed performance will be 25 knots (46 km/h; 29 mph) (max speed of 35 knots, 65 km/h, 40 mph). The ships will carry eight surface-to-surface missiles, a full-fledged surface-to-air missile (SAM) system with point defence capabilities and a 15 km (9.3 mi) range MR gun system. The ships will also have radar and electro-optically (EO) guided close-in systems (CIWS) with 360-degree anti-missile defence. WarfareShallowWaterCraft corvette
