2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Review Part 2: Automatic Parking feature: https://youtu.be/ISwatX9hLAA Part 3 Payment Comparison: https://youtu.be/PzAoBS4dCgM Overview: The Pacifica Hybrid is a plug-in variant of Chrysler's top-ranked minivan. Although the Pacifica was originally a midsize crossover, Chrysler reintroduced the name for the 2017 model year as a successor to the Town & Country. The hybrid variant is the only plug-in in its class and sacrifices little to the standard car other than the available Stow 'n Go seating and AWD. It competes with other minivans including the hybrid Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey, and Kia Sedona. - Facelifted front and rear styling - Standard 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment with new software - Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto - 0-inch instrument cluster display now standard - New top-spec Pinnacle trim - Upgraded standard active safety features - New wheel designs and a new paint option - Updated LED headlights, taillights, and fog lights The Pacifica is our favorite minivan, and a plug-in hybrid powertrain only adds to the experience. It's still relatively quick and the Pacifica plug-in is smooth and silent driving under electric power,. Body motions are controlled surprisingly well for such a large vehicle. The brakes are a bit squishy, but stopping distances are plenty adequate. With 32 miles of electric range, the Pacifica plug-in offers a more electrified experience than the new hybridized Toyota Sienna. For longer trips, each row of seating offers generous space and this Pacifica can travel up to 566 miles before stopping to refuel. Ride quality is excellent. Chrysler's UConnect infotainment system has always been intuitive, and it should be better than ever with the new-for-2021 standard 10.1-inch touchscreen display. There are a couple drawbacks to choosing the hybrid. It can't be optioned with the Pacifica's newly available AWD, and the hybrid battery means Stow 'n Go seating is not offered. Plus, if you need seating for eight, you'll have to go with the non-hybrid Pacifica because the hybrid is only available with second-row captain's chairs. Also, not everyone will be comfortable with a minivan variant that carries a starting price—even on the base model—above $40,000. Even with those flaws, the Pacifica Hybrid is an efficient, stylish, luxuriously appointed van that should be near the top of any family's shopping list. Performance & Safety: The Pacifica Hybrid combines the same 3.6-liter V-6 as the standard minivan with two electric motors and a 16-kWh battery. That combo is paired with a CVT automatic and FWD. The 2021 Pacifica's available AWD is not offered with the hybrid setup. Thanks to the large battery, the Pacifica can travel 32 miles on electric power alone. Cargo & Space: The plug-in Pacifica provides seating for seven, with two captain's chairs in the second row and a three-seat bench in the way-back. Legroom measures 41.1 inches up front, 39.0 inches in the middle, and a respectable 36.5 inches in the third row. Thankfully, the hybrid gives up nothing in passenger or cargo space to the non-hybrid Pacifica, though it isn't available with Chrysler's Stow 'n Go seating. Cargo volume is impressive, measuring 32.3 cubic feet behind the third row, 87.5 with the third row folded, and a capacious 140.5 cubic feet if you fold down both rows of rear seating. Just in case you thought you needed a full-size SUV to fit your family and all their stuff, the Pacifica offers significantly more capacity than a Chevrolet Tahoe. Technology: New for 2021, all Pacificas feature a next-generation infotainment system with a 10.1-inch touchscreen display, replacing the standard 7.0- and optional 8.4-inch touchscreens offered with the 2020 model. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard, too, as is a 7.0-inch instrument cluster display.
