Nothosaurus Facts | A Prehistoric Sea Predator Nothosaurus The Nothosaurus is an extinct reptile that existed approximately 240-210 million years ago in the triasic period according to the fossils. The Nothosaurus existed in what we now call now southwestern and eastern Asia, North Africa, and especially Europe which is where the fossils where found of this nightmarish reptile sea creature. You can find the complete skeleton in the national history museum in Germany specifically in Berlin. Judging by the Nothosaurus teeth, this prehistoric sea monster was clearly carnivores. It would be a safe guess to assume the Nothosaurus ate a lot of fish just by judging its teeth alone. The Nothosaurus had a very slender body type and had a very similar body structure in comparison to the Liopluerodon. A Nothosaurus skull was broad and kinda flat, with long jaws and rip gut teeth perfect for consuming a meal making this prehistoric sea predator beautifully crazy. According to the Nothosaurus fossils the average Nothosaurus reached up to 16 to 23 feet in length. This will make you sleep with both lights on experiencing a lightmare rather than a nightmare.
