Goldroom's video: Verano Mix 2016

My number one goal when making a mix is always to tell a story, and to make the hour feel like a journey that we can take together. I couldn't care less about exclusives, VIP remixes, or proving that I have more unreleased music than the next guy. I just want to jump into your head and soundtrack a day of your life, and that all comes down to telling a story through the songs that transcend the summer of 2016. To me, the story of this Verano mix is all about change... unavoidable oncoming change. Just like Autumn's inevitable arrival at the end of Summer, I can't help but feel like something is on the horizon ready to change everything. I'm not sure what the next few months will hold but it feels like things will get blurry and never be the same again. Change can be terrifying and exciting all at once. The summer can be the best and the worst in that way. I tried to capture that with this mix. Things are fine and then they aren't but there's always hope at the end.
