@How To Make A Living Pumpkin Diorama For Halloween | Good Housekeeping
Step your pumpkin game up this Halloween with this spooky pumpkin graveyard diorama. Using real succulents, rocks, twigs and moss you can turn a simple pumpkin into a tiny little living world. **STEPS** 00:47 Draw a large oval shape on your pumpkin to act as guide for cutting. You'll want to make sure the bottom of your opening is at least 3 inches from the base. 00:53 Using pumpkin carving tools or a serrated knife, cut out the oval shape. Trim away until the oval opening is smooth and the desired shape. 01:04 Paint the inside of the pumpkin with black craft paint. Repeat as needed with multiple coats until fully covered. 01:13 Once completely dry, adhere small rhinestones inside the pumpkin to create a starry night effect. We recommend using self-adhesive rhinestones or craft gems with glue dots or glue. 01:40 Add moss inside the pumpkin or potting soil if you plan on planting plants inside. 01:43 Add your succulent plants inside the pumpkin and place where you desire. 01:51 Continue to add moss to add color and fills gaps after adding your plants. 01:57 Place twigs inside towards the back of the pumpkin to resemble trees. 02:05 Using a permanent decorate a few small oblong and flat rocks to make them look like gravestones then place inside your pumpkin. 02:34 For the final touch suspend a white ball from the top of the interior of the pumpkin with with string or fishing line to create a full moon. 02:57 Lightly mist your plants once a week. **SUPPLIES** Large Pumpkin Pencil Pumpkin carving kit or serrated knife Moss Small succulent plants Potting soil (optional) Twigs Small oblong flat rocks or miniature gravestones Self-adhesive rhinestones Ping pong Ball or small foam craft ball String or fishing line Black craft Paint Black permanent marker Paintbrush Craft Glue or glue dots
