Goonk Vilaivanh's video: Import Alliance Homecoming

@Import Alliance Homecoming
First off, let me say that it's hard to believe it's been a whole year since I filmed car meets. I first got started with my first car video with a little sony camcorder I had back in summer 2011 but it was later that year, I went to this very same Import Alliance fall meet that started to get me noticed from a lot of car enthusiasts who I later became good friends with in the middle TN area. I received many recognitions from them and I'm very grateful for that. Just last year, I knew nothing about how to use my Canon T2i and had very little editing skills and now here I am feeling like I know what I'm doing and am very good at it. I know I could do better though, but I have a lot to learn still. I've improved much more from last year's video of the meet which you can check out from the link below. You'll notice a BIG difference between the two videos. So now I'm ending the year with this last car meet video for the Gripset website and I hope you all enjoy it. Lat year's video: https://vimeo.com/32181735 As for the event itself, it's so nice to see many people from locals to out of state car enthusiasts of all kind to come for such an event where they can enjoy other people's builds. We all have a passion for cars. Everyone has their own tastes in mods. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Some may want to come and get an inspiration for their own build by looking at what others did. Some may think of the event as a small vacation, a paradise, or a happy place we could go to get away from the usual routines in our daily lives. What ever the reason people have to come here, we all have the same thing in common. You'll see many cars ranging from old school to new school, luxurious or ratrods, clean and simple, or thinking straight out of the box, maybe being unique with such a build no much could do, or the first to do a certain mod. There are euros, domestics, and Japanese cars. We have from slammed to fitted, hard parkers and vip guys, boosted or all motors, function only, form over function, even the best of form and function. You name it. They're all there, but scattered all over the place so you have to go on a hunt for them. Speaking of which, it was hard for me to find the cars I wanted on film because after drivers got settled in parking, others would move to find a better parking spot so then you start to see lots of cars cruising around the parking lots. I would film one car, look back and the car I wanted on film is gone. Sometimes I may find it later, and most of the time I don't ever see it again. But regardless of the wanted cars, there were many cars to film. I also wanted to capture how big it was, the turn out of the meet, the overall vibe, the perspective we all see at the meet. Anywhere from a relax feeling to a party sensation. Last year, it got wild from everyone standing on the sidewalks of the bridge watching all sorts of cars leaving the entrance at WOT. It got so wild there were calls that got the police to come and they couldn't handle the crowd for quite a long time. This time, there cops to attend the meet to make sure nothing stupid happens and everything is safe especially having no one on the bridge again. BUT!! Once again people were on the bridge. At least it wasn't as bad as last years. The wildest thing there was a gymkhana type of course where anyone is welcome to test their skills in their cars on the course. It was meant for grip driving but some ignored it and drifted around the small course. Other than that, this meet was well organized and successful. Everyone had a great time from what I see. Nice people everywhere you go and were great to meet. All the vendors are awesome such as S3 magazine, Seen It!, Weksos, SlammedEnuff?, Grip Royal, and more more! I look forward to coming here again next year. www.grip-set.com Follow me on Instagram - @goonk Canon T2i 28mm f/1.8 18-55 kit lens Song Bout that Life - Bei Maejor
