Goonk Vilaivanh's video: My Riverside 6 footage sat in my hard-drive for a year and I decided to slap something together

This is most definitely not a creative video by any means. The title is literally self-explanatory. Last year (2021) in March when I attended Riverside Chattanooga Spring Meet 6, I recorded quite a fair amount of coverage of the event. I wanted to make a great video out of it, but never really had the urge to edit it. Honestly it wasn't until I reviewed the footage probably around October for the first time and started editing for a week. But soon after I neglected it and once again it sat in the hard drive. It had a lot to do with the music choices from Artlist.io and the type of footage I captured. I wasn't pleased with either of it. So I decided to leave it alone entirely. Then fast forward to beginning of February 2022 as my brothers and I talk about going to the 7th annual meet, I wanted to take a look at the footage again. There's two perspectives I realized as I looked at them again. 1. I still wasn't pleased with the footage; some footage has obvious grain in broad daylight, overexpose/blown shots, missed focus are the main issues for me. 2. Maybe my mind just isn't creative with editing anymore; or have I lost the passion?? Well.. I found new (sufficient) music to edit to so I started over and legitimately slapped it together within 1.5 weeks. I at least put some thought of where I should place the footage or just made it work. Then I just applied the Alexa-Rec709 lut within DaVinci Resolve with some tweaks to it. And that's literally it. I guess now the reason I'm uploading this is I don't want the footage to be a waste without anyone seeing them; it also may give some Z Cam owners (or future buyers) to see what the footage (of bad examples) look like. So this is how I feel with this. It all sounds like a big excuse, and it probably is. Surely many filmmakers, editors, or similar people have those same feelings to certain video projects. I just want to get this off my mind and move on to other projects in the planning. Try to enjoy the video for what it is.. or not.
