They believe they must take control not just of America but the entire globe. As Americans they believe that America itself is blessed by God and was created by God and that America's destiny is to preach the Gospel to the world. So the Global War On Terror they believe is just an extension of the Godly Christians fighting demons who are supposedly personified by the followers of Islam and other religions spawned by Satan. So America and especially its Evangelical Christians have a divine mission such as the Christian Crusaders had. This joining of nationalism, patriotism with a specific form of Christianity is a threat in a pluralistic society and in a world made up of a number of different religious faiths.
