"No longer do we have to wait, face to face..." In 2011, I released a song called “I Wonder” detailing my adoption story. The heart behind the song was to reach my biological mother, knowing it would take a miracle to happen. For years it was radio silence. A few media outlets helped spread the song and I sent multiple letters through my adoption agency, but I never heard a word back. Then in 2017, the meeting became a reality. I still remember the crazy circumstances that lead to the meeting. It was my first time traveling international. I remember the train ride, the weather, the conversation, and even the smell of the room we met in. Toward the middle of the meeting, I was able to take out my laptop, and play the MV for her. The moment was a reflection of God’s grace. 3 years later, I was finally able to write and record a song about the meeting. The ever talented @Samuelock crafted the perfect backdrop for me to paint on, and the wonderful @Jenniferjchung captured everything I wanted to communicate through the chorus. The first time I heard her demo, I had chills. She absolutely killed it. The impeccable @b4lasers put the finishing touches on the record and the rest is history. In some ways, “Face To Face” is a sequel to “I Wonder”. And in another, It represents closure to the genesis of my story. I’m grateful to God for it all. Hope you enjoy.
