Grace Quansah's video: WAPPY AT THE LMA PRESENTATIONS AND INTERVIEWING LINDSAY WARNER MAY 2018

@WAPPY AT THE LMA PRESENTATIONS AND INTERVIEWING LINDSAY WARNER, MAY 2018
Some members of Writing, Acting & Publishing Project for Youngsters (WAPPY) who have been participating in its Near Neighbours funded, 'Building Bridges' (BB) project visit the London Metropolitan Archives, May 30th 2018 to take part in its Youth Symposium as part of the Archives' Spring Festival 2018. There, they took part in a workshop where our youngsters learnt from the archives the contributions CY Grant and Jessica Huntley, respectively, have made to London history. Four members, Sasha, T-Khai, Riley and Christian, performed their creative pieces (stories and poems) inspired by selecting random objects from a 'Box of Memories' activity they did in a preceding BB workshop, while another member, Nyah, read her award-winning poem, Bob Dylan-inspired poem, at the Symposium. Another highlight was when our young writers interviewed young author, Lindsay Warner, who joined WAPPY in 2009 (age 10), and is now volunteering with WAPPY while studying for a English Literature degree. This video captures visual various moments of WAPPY's time at the LMA and includes Akuba Voice-Over (of her reading Christian's 'Anansi & the Rope') plus some members interviewing Lindsay, as well as each members creative piece and the object/subject that inspired their creativity. The footage is credited to WAPPY Trustees, John Durston and Carolyn Warner. For more on WAPPY visit www.wappy.org.uk. Thank You! Akuba
