It's a well acted movie by everyone involved, especially Raymond Massey. Massey gives such a compelling performance that after I watch "Santa Fe Trail" (once a year or so) I want to learn more about the real John Brown. Then I go to the library but the only book they have on Brown is about 600 pages long. Then I chicken out and go home."
