Hanoi is one of the most interesting capitals in Asia. The kingdom of Vietnam became independent from China around year 1000 AD. The ruins of the ancient Hanoi imperial palace and forbidden city dates back to this period. But is not for the old monuments that the city deserve a visit. A travel to Hanoi is a travel into humanity. I was there for two days, and I was fascinated by how the locals enjoyed the few public placed in the cities. The elders and the youngsters alike gathered around the Hoam Kien Lake to meet, greet and entertain each other in different ways: the elders with thai chi and other physical / spiritual exercise, the youngsters singing and dancing together.
