Burman From The Movie Mangal Sutra .A musician, playback singer, television anchor, music director, actor, and film producer who worked predominantly in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, and Malayalam films. According to sources, he held the Guinness World Record for recording the highest number of songs by a singer with over 40,000 songs. Balasubrahmanyam had the distinction of rendering the most NUMBER OF songs on a single day by any singer. He had recorded 21 songs in Kannada, 19 songs in Tamil, and 16 songs in Hindi. Balasubrahmanyam developed an interest in music at an early age, studied musical notations, and learned music. He WANTED TO BE an engineer BUT HAD TO discontinue his studies due to typhoid. HE continued to pursue music during his engineering studies. In 1964, he won the first prize in a music competition for amateur singers organized by the Madras-based Telugu Cultural Organization. In 2016, he was honored with the Silver Peacock Medal as Indian Film Personality of the Year, a recipient of the Padma Shri (2001), Padma Bhushan (2011), and Padma Vibhushan (Posthumously) (2021) from the Government of India.
