In March 2013, 29-year-old Henry Chau 周凱亮 and his accomplice were arrested for murdering his parents at his apartment in Tai Kok Tsui. He subsequently decapitated their bodies and kept their remains, including their heads, in his refrigerator. After the incident, Chau and his unsuspecting brother plead to the media to help find their missing parents. However, Chau was made a suspect when he apparently confessed to killing his parents on a Whatsapp chat group. Police then searched his home where they discovered a literal chop shop of body parts. Some remains of the elderly couple were cooked and stored to resemble barbecued meat. In 2015, he was sentenced to life imprisonment.
