The entrance to the site is actually more than 15 -20 minutes walk away from the caves. The Yungang Grottoes consist of 251 man-made caves and more than 51.000 Buddhist statues, Most of the statues are very well preserved inside the caves, and you’re allowed to take photos inside most of them, but strictly no flash. 進入石窟景區，首先參拜石窟開鑿者曇曜法師，隨後步入有十三對 “騎象四棱神柱” 依次列於兩側的禮佛大道，這裏高大宏偉，石窟前還有跨過水塘的小橋，橋的另一端就是靈岩寺，寺內千佛殿的牌匾 “人世間法無定法然後知非法法也；天下事了猶未了何妨以不了了之”。大殿兩側鼓樓和鐘樓四側寫有 “慈悲、喜舍、遇合、姻緣”，還有從熟悉的金剛經和心經提煉出的經典句子 “不生不滅不垢不凈不增不減真實不虛說，如夢如幻如泡如影如露如電應作如是觀”。走過靈岩寺，就是雲岡石窟。
