The Songhua River is one of the primary rivers of China, and the longest tributary of the Amur. It flows about 1,434 kilometres from the Changbai Mountains on the China–North Korea border through China's northeastern Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces. Stalin Park was built in 1953 and was originally named "Riverside Park". The park is located on the south bank of the Songhua River in the urban area, starting from the Songhua River Railway Bridge in the east and Jiuzhan Park in the west, with a total length of 1,750 meters. 斯大林公園建於1953年，原名 "江畔公園"。公園位於市區松花江南岸，東起松花江鐵路大橋，西至九站公園，全長1750延長米，是順堤傍水建成的帶狀形開放式的公園，與馳名中外的"太陽島"風景區隔江相望，佔地面積十萬零五千平方米，它以仿造俄羅斯古典式建築風格和遍布全園五顏六色的 "五色草花壇" 及 分佈在綠地之間的 "天鵝展翅"、"三少年"、"起步"、"跳水"、"舞劍" 等十六組各種藝術雕塑而名揚海內外。
