Kinda sorta. We've both moved to England for university and things have been chaotic which is why this video is so late! I just wanna start by saying a huge thanks to insaneintherainmusic for guesting in our medley! It would have been impossible to do such a cool version of the song without him, and his playing and help with theory and mixing really helped the song. So thanks! :D This medley ended up pretty long, all the songs in it were great and so much fun to arrange. Route 110 is pretty much *the* most nostalgic song of the game for both of us so we tried to capture that in the first loop of it! For Slateport, we decided to revisit the ska theme we had in our Castlevania cover, and I feel like it worked pretty well! Doing the lead on the jazz organ is always a blast, and Anne-So's ska guitar sound is one I always love to hear! Verdanturf was tough to do, after hearing so many straight piano covers of it, we tried to do something a little more interesting with it. Hopefully it worked! It was a very tricky one to mix. Trainer Battle is definitely the centrepiece of the medley. We knew we wanted insaneintherain to be on the track, but we weren't sure where or how. While I was analysing the song, I realised that changing up the rhythm for the bass riff in the intro made a great jazz riff. Then it clicked! And the rest kind of just wrote itself. I think we're both really proud of it, and we hope that Insaneintherainmusic enjoyed playing on it! :) And finally, the Bike theme is an arrangement I wrote back in July, on a plane. It's actually barely changed since then, since we were both really happy with it. See if you can catch the reference! We're about to hit 500 subscribers and we just can't thank you guys enough for that. It's amazing and we never expected that! All songs were composed by Junichi Masuda, Go Ichinose and Morikazu Aoki.
