Hi Everyone, Welcome back to my channel!!! and in today's video, I will be showing you how to make Viand Bef Ak Kalalou also known as Haitian Beef with Okra PLEASE MAKE SURE TO WATCH IN 1080P OR 720P !!! Please subscribe and give this video a thumbs up if you like the video and don’t forget to hit the bell for notifications Cleaning Ingredients: 3 pounds of beef shank meat salt 1 cup of white vinegar 1/2 cup of lime juice 2 limes Seasoning Ingredients: 1 tablespoon of lime juice 1 tablespoon of sour orange juice 2 tablespoon of haitian epis 1 tablespoon of Sofrito 1 tablespoon of hot sauce (OPTIONAL) 1 tablespoon of garlic salt 1 tablespoon of Badia Complete seasoning 1 packet of Goya chicken bouillon Cooking Ingredients: 2 pounds of okra 1 hot pepper 1 whole onion 2 tablespoons of tomato paste parsley/thyme 5 cloves 1 tablespoon of regular butter Directions: Step 1: Make sure you cut the meat and remove the fat. While you are cutting the meat make sure you are boiling some water on the stove to later disinfect the meat also known as chaude. Step 2: While the water is boiling, make sure you add the cleaning ingredients to clean the meat. Make sure you clean the meat with the ingredients at least 3 times and rinse off the meat with cold water. After the water has been boiling and you are done cleaning the meat, you will pour the hot water over the meat and let it sit for 5 minutes. Step 3: After 5 minutes has passed, add the seasoning ingredients and let it marinate for 30 minutes. Step 4: On medium high heat, add 1 tablespoon extra virgin oil to begin the cooking process for the beef. Put 1 cup of hot water to further cook the meat. Step 5: While the meat is cooking, I will begin working on the okra by cutting off the head and butt of the okra and pouring lime juice over it so its not extra slimy. Step 6: After 20 minutes has passed, I will begin by browning the meat meaning i will be adding water from time to time to make sure the meat has some color and it doesn’t stick to the pan and burn. Step 7: After a couple of minutes, check your meat and see of it still needs browning. Step 8: Add the tomato paste to make the sauce. After that begin adding the okra to the pan so it can cook. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE OKRA ON ONE SIDE OF THE PAN BECAUSE ONCE IT COOKS YOU DONT WANT TO DESTROY THE OKRA. Step 9: After 5 minutes has passed, begin adding the hot pepper & parsley/thyme and add the salt and butter *ONLY IF YOU SEE THAT ITS MISSING SOME FLAVOR* Step 10: Put the meat on medium low and let it simmer and now its ready to be served and enjoyed :)
