Hi Everyone, Welcome back to my channel!!! and in today's video, I will be showing you how to clean and fry Griot also known as Fried Pork and as a special treat I will also show you how I make Pikliz to go along with my griot PLEASE MAKE SURE TO WATCH IN 1080P OR 720P!!! Please subscribe and give this video a thumb up if you like the video Ingredients to Clean Griot (Pork Shoulders) 3 lbs of pork shoulder 1 cup of apple cider vinegar 1 sour orange 2 limes 2 tablespoons of salt Ingredients to Marinate/Season Griot (Pork Shoulders) 1 Packet of Goya Chicken Bouillon 2 tablespoons of sour orange juice 2 tablespoons of lime/lemon juice 3 tablespoons of Haitian epis (Haitian seasoning) 3 tablespoons of minced garlic 2 tablespoons of Badia complete seasoning 2 tablespoons of hot sauce 2 hot peppers Thyme /parsley Ingredients to Fry Griot (Pork Shoulders) Oil Ingredients for Pikliz (Haitian Hot Spice): 3 cups of chopped red, green & orange bell peppers 1 hot pepper 2 cups of grated cabbage 2 cups of grated carrots 2 tablespoons of lime/lemon juice 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or regular white vinegar 1 tablespoon of garlic powder 1 tablespoon of salt Directions: Step 1: Clean the griot with the cleaning ingredients and wash the meat against the lime. You will rinse the meat with the cold water and you will repeat the process 4 times. Step 2: After your final wash of the meat, you will add the seasoning ingredients and let it marinate for 45minutes Step 3: Now you will put your pot on medium high heat and let the meat cook for 1 hour and 22 minutes. You will add the hot pepper and parsley/thyme in with the meat while its cooking. PLEASE BE SURE TO ADD 2 CUPS OF WATER TO PREVENT THE MEAT FROM STICKING TO THE PAN AND FOR THE MEAT TO BE THROUGHLY COOKED. Step 4: After the meat has been cooked, you will add 5 cups of oil to start frying your griot. You will let the griot fry for at least 5 minutes and you will remove it and let it sit to cool down. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN FRYING BECAUSE IT WILL BE VERY HOT AND YOU DON’T WANT TO BURN YOURSELF. Step 5: After that you will make your pikliz with the ingredients listed above and make sure you mix it very well. If your pikliz looks a little dry, just add vinegar at a time until it looks like coleslaw sauce and you are ready to eat ;-) I hope you guys enjoyed this!!!!
